Crochet Subscription Boxes…

If, like me you are a total crochet box magpie you may too have fallen into the subscription box rabbit hole!!! I have tried quite a few of the boxes now, generally as a one off treat to myself. There are so many to choose from where do you start?? Three straightway spring to mind…

Inside one of the Lucky Dip boxes

Little Box of Crochet. During lockdown since I was not paying for petrol I decide to try one of the Lucky Dip boxes. I ordered on a Friday, they arrived on the Monday. I say they as I only ordered one but two arrived – that’s so very lucky! I got in touch with them about the error and they told me to keep it at no extra charge – proper bonus points! It was an absolute delight opening up the boxes and finding the treats inside, patterns, buttons, hooks, earring, hand warmers the list goes on and then there is obviously the yarn. Beautiful colours from Yarn and Colors. Have used up most of them already for an array of different projects, delightful to work with and look lovely in the amigurumi I have made. Seeing the glory of these small boxes I went online and immediately ordered their summer project A Trip to the Seaside which I am loving. (Don’t tell anyone but I have also ordered the Advent box 😊🎄)

Box 8

Crochet Society. I love watching the unboxing videos on Facebook so I ordered a past box, box 6 from last December…unfortunately it got lost in the post so they let me pick another one, I chose box 8. Much excitement when it arrived, my heart rate doubled with the noise of the Velcro fastener! Inside a beautiful pattern book and stunning yarn to go with it. Some added extras a bamboo hook, scissors, stitch marker and the sewing clips that have been so well used they need a little holiday! I was a little disappointed with the hook, it kept catching on the yarn so it went in the round recycle bin of terror. The scissors were unable to cut through the yarn so they also were dealt the same fate, however if you are a crocheter these are the kind of things you’d have anyway in your kit and it has not put me off keeping an eye on what’s coming next.

Months 1-3

Cuddlebums Yarn Crusade. I signed up the for the 6 month crochet along. A secret box of delight landing on the welcome mat every month for 6 months. Also my first ever CAL. The yarn is out of this world, all hand dyed and super soft. Crochets up like a dream, following the story is great fun and the choices you make decide the order of the colours you have. I have completed the first 3 months, but am finding the pattern a little tedious so boxes 4 and 5 are currently left unused and 6 will be here any day! I’m going to have to finish it as I want the opportunity to win the fabulous galaxy bag!! However it has made me look at CALs a bit more closely, making my decision to buy the Sophie’s Universe book and having a go at that! I’m an sooooooo in love with Didri’s pattern!

Much to my husbands horror I shall continue to try as many subscription boxes as possible, not much can beat the joy of getting a parcel and having no clue as to what lovelies lie inside!

    1. You could always try an old one! There’s loads to choose from. So far I’ve done Connie’s Ray of Hope by The Loopy Stitch and am working on Sophie’s Universe and another one from The West Yorkshire Spinners. Oh and I’ve also downloaded one to make up as a Christmas gift!! From that list I’ve obviously got too many things on the go!! 🤣🤣

  1. I have never tried one of the boxes. But reading this I’m thinking I might! Thankyou for the reviews.
