Pinterest<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

How do you decide on what you\u2019re going to make next? I used to have quite a Pinterest addiction. It all started when I was breastfeeding my third baby, each time I sat down to feed him I opened up the Pinterest app and started browsing. I have thousands of projects pinned to my crochet board. How many have I actually made?? About 4!!! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since starting my public Instagram<\/a> account I have barely touched the Pinterest icon. That was not a conscious decision, it just seems to have been a natural switch in the use of my time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dropbox<\/a> has now become one of my favourite apps! I find pdf patterns, both paid for and free ones and copy them to dropbox. I don\u2019t have as many on there as I do on Pinterest but I am actually working my way through them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My use of technology is not the point. What I\u2019m more interested in is how you or I decide on what we\u2019re making next. And, how do you actually know a pattern is right for you? I have discovered over lockdown that I am definitely more likely to finish a project if it uses various techniques to produce different textures and interesting bits to look at. I am not a fan of doing the same stitch over and over again. This may be because I am much more confident in my ability to produce something that is more intricate these days. Along with my unwavering belief of if you don\u2019t try you will never know! (And possibly also the fact that I am quite gung-ho and refuse to be defeated – bloody minded my mum would call it!!!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have all the patterns ready for my Christmas gifts this year, and more shockingly all the yarn to make them. From Toft Cro Your Own<\/a> to mandalas to sprouts I am totally ready and know what I\u2019ll be making over the next few months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that? Who knows! I have patterns a plenty the one I most want to make for me is Ludo <\/a>from my all time favourite film Labyrinth (if you\u2019ve not seen it – watch it!) Cottontail & Whiskers<\/a> designed the pattern, it is in my Dropbox folder ready to go, I even have the Ice eyelash yarn. I\u2019m hoping he\u2019ll be joining Mr Stag on the wall early next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before that however I have my Little Box of Crochet Advent<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
